Reaching Children and Adults on Both Sides of the Border!
Living Composers
Since 1992, the lives and music of Mozart and Beethoven have been brought to life and shared with over 35,000 elementary school students annually through Living Composers assemblies that engage them in interactive performances set to the music of these master composers. A Q&A session follows the assemblies, and pre- and post-visit educational materials are provided to teachers. During each assembly, teaching artists entice the children with visually appealing scenery and costuming as the music of either Mozart or Beethoven is played in the background. A narrator takes the children on a historical journey through the life and times of the composer as the actors interact with the audience. Living Composers is offered in both English and Spanish. To book a Living Composers assembly for your school, call (619) 239-0100, ext. 314 or email livingcomposers@mainlymozart.org
Mozart is for Everyone
As part of its goal to increase access to classical music for underserved populations, Mainly Mozart designates thousands of free tickets each year to its yearly Festival. Last year Mainly Mozart distributed 3,000 free tickets to children and families throughout the County, with a special emphasis on southeastern San Diego. It also donates tickets to other nonprofit organizations who serve underrepresented groups.
