A frequent headliner at Guadalajara’s “Encuentro Internacional del Mariachi y Charreria,” Mariachi Garibaldi from Southwestern College spices up things with a smorgasbord of hit tunes, such as the romantic “Cucurrucucu paloma,” jaunty “Tijuana Taxi,” mystifying “Hotel California” and even a gypsy-inspired Hungarian dance. Dr. Jeff Nevin -- founder of the 16-member group and an award-winning composer, mariachi educator and trumpeter -- will conduct.
