Led by Music Director Hernan Constantino and Associate Music Director Jane Frey, the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra offers unique music education and performance programs for youth ages 3-23. MMYO not only provides incredible performance opportunities and learning experiences, but also includes a high instructor-student ratio, coaching by and exposure to Mainly Mozart’s international Artist-Faculty, a Chamber Music Institute and Summer Chamber Music Camp coached by leading professional chamber musicians, and inclusive programs for children with learning differences.

Intermediate and Advanced Orchestra are held in early February for the remainder of the 2014 season, and in June and August for the 2014 – 2015 season. Auditions for Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings, and Intermediate Winds & Brass are open year-round by appointment. No auditions are required for Suzuki enrollment. MMYO is currently looking for Wind, Brass, and Percussion players.

Summer Chamber Music Camp
An intensive music experience for serious string, wind, brass, and piano players ages 12 – 23. For six days, students are engaged in a dynamic combination of classes, performances, and social opportunities. Students will not only make music together, they will form lasting friendships. Camp includes masterclasses led by Mainly Mozart’s world-class musicians, daily Chamber Music Group Coaching from Mainly Mozart’s Quartet-in-Residence, the Hausmann Quartet, Chamber Music Seminars and Guided Rehearsals by music professionals, Solo Repertoire Master Classes with Mainly Mozart Festival artists and SDSU Collegiate faculty, and the chance to attend concerts and rehearsals of the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra.
Chamber Music Institute
A 16-week course on Saturday afternoons at Mesa Community College held from January through May for string, wind, brass, and piano players ages 12 – 23. Exploring the subtleties of ensemble playing through master classes and coaching from Mainly Mozart’s resident ensemble, the Hausmann Quartet and Mainly Mozart’s world renowned musicians.
