Led by Music Director Hernan Constantino and Associate Music Director Jane Frey, the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra offers unique music education and performance programs for youth ages 3-23. MMYO not only provides incredible performance opportunities and learning experiences, but also includes a high instructor-student ratio, coaching by and exposure to Mainly Mozart’s international Artist-Faculty, a Chamber Music Institute coached by leading professional chamber musicians, and inclusive programs for children with learning differences.

Auditions for Advanced and Intermediate Orchestra are scheduled in June and August for the 2014-2015 season, and again in February for approved mid-semester admissions. MMYO is currently looking for Winds, Brass, and Percussion players.
Auditions for Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings, and Intermediate Winds & Brass are scheduled year-round by appointment. No auditions are required for Suzuki enrollment.
The 2014-2015 SDSU Creative Music Scholarship may be available for new Advanced Orchestra winds, brass, and percussion students upon audition. These are full or partial skill-based scholarships, available courtesy of the SDSU Center for Teaching Critical Thinking and Creativity.

Visit a Rehearsal
Prospective students are welcome to sit-in on a rehearsal to ensure that MMYO offers the experience they are looking for. Fill out a MMYO Visitor form to schedule your rehearsal visit for a Saturday rehearsal September through June!

The Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra encompasses six orchestral ensembles designed for students ages 3-23 at all different levels and abilities, focusing on a high education level and quality performance.

A 16-week course on Saturday afternoons at Mesa Community College held from January through May for string, wind, brass, and piano players ages 12 – 23. Exploring the subtleties of ensemble playing through master classes and coaching from Mainly Mozart’s resident ensemble, the Hausmann Quartet and Mainly Mozart’s world renowned musicians.
2015 registration will be available in mid October of 2014.
